Reimagining Public Spaces Post COVID-19: Ideas for Indian Cities
Review of existing research and emerging questions by experts on the impact of COVID-19 on public space indicates a greater demand for smaller, neighborhood level, ‘everyday public spaces’. Spaces that are flexible, provide relief from daily routines, offer opportunities for lingering, observing, and social interaction. We collaborated with Groundwork Architecture on this publication for RCUES, Mumbai, that focuses on recommendations for systemic improvements in design, financing and management to make everyday public environments and infrastructures more hygienic, safer, organized, agile and resilient.
